Apple charging bricks !

A

Unfortunately, iPhone 12 lineup was released without charging bricks and many rumors around that iPhone 13 might skip the charging port to become wireless charging only. So what is wrong with that? Here are the reasons why this is a bad idea ( till now Jan. 2021 ) :

1. Charging :

The charging capabilities of wireless chargers are way inefficient and energy-wasting in comparison with wired charging ( in case Apple claims they are environmentally friendly, then wired charging is much more environmentally benign than wireless due to the energy loss during wireless charging ).

2. Data Transfer :

Yes, not all of us are fully dependent on clouds as we still use cables to transfer data from our phones and to them. The speed of transferring data through cables is still the best.

3. Reset OS :

There are a couple of situations when you need to reset the operating system to its factory settings as you might have an error that occurred during an update or whatever reason and you can’t do this through wireless ( currently ).

So let’s hope that they don’t remove cables from the phones and in my opinion, wireless technology is not at a point where it can replace wired.
